Atelier Jolie, Angelina Jolie’s latest venture into the fashion realm, places a strong emphasis on longevity, sustainability, and recognition for the artisans shaping each piece. Housed in Jean-Michel Basquiat’s former Soho studio, the atelier champions the belief that everyone is a creator and designed the space thoughtfully to empower customers to engage in alterations such as patchwork, embroidery, painting, and tailoring.

Each bespoke piece is accompanied by a certificate of title from Fairchain - a title management, authentication, and transaction platform for fine art, operating on the Ethereum blockchain. In preparation for the Atelier Jolie launch, Fairchain underwent transformative changes to extend the platform experience beyond fine art to clothing and other collectible items.

As an engineering co-lead, I led critical full-stack initiatives in expanding the Fairchain platform. These initiatives included a significant shift from a fixed royalty structure between a single artist and a gallery to a dynamic structure that ensures recognition and fair rewards for all contributors to a work. The sales agreement generation was updated to accommodate diverse asset types beyond artworks. Additionally, a new account experience tailored for brands interested in registering collectibles was introduced.
